P&P ‘24 would like to introduce florist Arbutus & Ivy @arbutusandivy. This delightful business was established in 2017 by Sophie. Their name was influenced by the
history around the language of flowers or ‘floriography’, which was used in a sentimental way as a form of code
for expressing matters of romance or courtship which otherwise could not be spoken.
Arbutus – ‘Thee only do I love’
Ivy – ‘Fidelity, Wedded Love, Affection, Friendship’
Their work has a strong focus on sustainability and aims to produce floral arrangements which are foam and plastic free.
When possible they also like to include flowers that have been grown by British and local growers within their designs,
or even include their own flowers which have been lovingly tended in their cutting garden .
Sophie sums it up :-
Arbutus & Ivy create artisan designed florals hand crafted from our little shop in the heart of Bakewell.
We see floristry as a form of art, reflecting the textures and colours of natures palette.
With a love of thoughtful and creative designs we aim to evoke the charm of an English garden.
